Install

One command sets up Codex along with any other AI tools on this machine:
Pick Codex when the CLI asks which tools should share your memory. Already have Atlaso? Run atlaso setup and add it. One install covers both Codex CLI and Codex Desktop — they share ~/.codex, so you don’t set them up separately.
In the Codex CLI:
Codex Desktop installs the same plugin through its marketplace UI. Capabilities are identical either way — the CLI just also links the device and sets up your other tools in one pass.

Known issue: Codex Desktop going quiet

A known Codex Desktop issue can stop plugin hooks from firing after certain updates — memory silently stops. Set ATLASO_DEBUG=1 in your environment to see whether hooks are running; if they aren’t, reinstall the plugin from the marketplace. Codex CLI is unaffected.

Removing it

That revokes Codex’s access and removes the plugin — from the CLI and Desktop at once, since they share the same config. By hand: codex plugin remove atlaso@atlaso.
